Congratulations to all Spelling Bee Finalists! Students from 2nd – 8th graders competed in class Spelling Bees during the week of December 9th. The top two students in 3rd – 8th grades will go on to represent As-Sabeel Academy at the SCISA Regional Spelling Bee on January 15th, where they will compete against students from several other SCISA schools in the region. Sabeel Students Compete in First Math Meet
For the first time in school history, ten As-Sabeel Academy middle schoolers competed in the SCISA Middle School Math Meet on Tuesday, October 22nd at the Sumter County Civic Center. 180 students from 22 schools formed 38 teams, all trying to out-calculate each other. We are very proud of our students whose team finished 6th overall (out of 38 teams)! Two students received special recognition for their individual performances. International Festival Slated for November 9th!
Fall is finally here, and that means it is time for As-Sabeel Academy’s 6th Annual International Festival! We are super excited for this year’s festival because it is going to be bigger and more fun than ever! We will have delicious homemade ethnic foods from around several countries, but we will also have inflatables, carnival games, and rides. So, while the adults are enjoying kabobs, biriyani, falafel, and shawarma, the kids will be enjoying obstacles courses and games. There will also be a bazaar, raffles, and more! Fatima Falah is SC’s State Merit Winner, 3M Young Scientist Challenge
We are excited to announce that As-Sabeel Academy seventh grader, Fatima Falah, has been selected as the State Merit Winner for South Carolinain the 2019 3M Young Scientist Challenge! Hundreds of entries from talented students all over the country were received, and Fatima was selected as the top entry among all other South Carolina resident submissions. Battle of the Books is Back in 2019-2020!
We are excited to be offering Elementary and Middle School Book Club again during the 2019-2020 school year. Students in Book Club meet bi-weekly either before or after school, and compete in the SCISA Battle of the Books competition. Last year, our Middle School students won the State Battle of the Books! Students Have Fun on Field Day!
A huge thank you to the As-Sabeel Academy Student Council who organized Field Day. The students had a great time playing games at stations and also doing whole group activities.
